Summary:
Serves as the financial officer of Lockport Public Library in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, and the policies and decisions of the Library Board of Trustees.
Part time position.
Three days a week.
$25 hourly wage Interpersonal Relationships:

Attends all regular and special meetings of the Board of Trustees Prepares a monthly financial report for presentation at board meetings Prepares financial analyses at the request of the Board of Trustees or the Director Keeps board members and director apprised of impending financial trends and concerns Responsibilities related to record keeping:
Prepares all monthly journal entries and monthly financial statements in compliance with the board meeting schedule Ensures that all financial records are maintained accurately Maintains library records as detailed in the library's record retention policy Receives and deposits all library funds in approved depositories Manages the investment of active and interim funds at the board's direction Disburses library funds in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with the library's annual appropriations/budget and board policy Payroll
Responsibilities:
Processes all payroll, fringe benefit, and retirement system payments in compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations Maintains a permanent file of payroll, fringe benefit and retirement system records as mandated by law and good business practice Prepares and files all fiscal and payroll reports to the federal, state and local authorities in a timely manner Management
Responsibilities:
Works with the director in preparation of the annual proposed budget.
Works with the director as a member of the administrative team to provide information and counsel on the present and projected financial condition of the library.
Advises the director on the formation of library policies related to fiscal matters.
Coordinates annual financial audit with the library's independent auditors.
Prepares required schedules and analysis.

Implements accounting system upgrades and changes Performs other duties as assigned by the Board of Trustees consistent with normal financial responsibilities Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Knowledge of state auditing requirements; public finance and record keeping; automated accounting; payroll software; local, state and federal tax laws preferred Strong Excel skills Experience with MIP accounting system is preferred Education, training and
Experience:
High school diploma; college accounting exposure preferred 5 years of accounting preferred Experience in not-for-profit accounting preferred Possession of a valid driver's license or transportation as needed is required Job Type:
