Job Description:
We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Melt Shop in Lockport, NYThis position is in our technical career ladder reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent for the Lockport Operations.
Responsibilities:
Support operations by driving continuous improvement of electrical power systems, electrical controls, motors, drives, and other related components including quality.Electrical troubleshooting of equipment,Support of the Maintenance organization, continuous improvement efforts, training, daily operations, and electrical safety.Major Maintenance and Capital projects.Analyze and troubleshoot challenges to appropriately recommend continuous improvement strategies and solutions.Apply engineering principles and process control strategies to improve operating efficiency of new and existing automation systems.Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process control models, strategies, and other methods for ensuring strong outputs, reliability, and efficiencies.Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.Assure process documentation is regularly developed and maintained.RequirementsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering.Experience working in a manufacturing environment and working from a maintenance perspective with heavy industrial equipment.Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with motor control centers, PLC's, static drives, electro/mechanical devices and power distribution.Experience with hands on trouble shooting, critical decision making and working with union employees.Exposure to Automation, Programming, or control systems theory.Experience supporting process control systems in a manufacturing environment.Experience with process control systems including Rockwell and HMI packages.Understanding Drive control theory and operation.Experience with intelligent motor control centers (e.gSiemens Simocode and AS-i).Leading and/or participating on teams constructed of people with various technical and non-technical backgrounds in continuous process improvement initiatives.Understanding of electro-mechanical system integration.Analyzing and troubleshooting process problems utilizing data archive and analysis tools, such as, IBA.Knowledge Skills & AbilitiesAbility to analyze and resolve problems effectively.Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external customers at all levels.Ability to work independently with high motivation and organizational capabilities.Exceptional organization skillsProficiency with computer systems and Microsoft OfficeCandidates should have a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a highly motivated team environment.Security Clearance Required:
