DUTIES: Support Yahoos local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet systems, or a segment of a network system. Maintain network software and services. Monitor the network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. Plan, coordinate and implement network security measures. Continually monitor the worldwide network for any service interruptions as well as attend to all service-impacting network events. Reduce the down-time of Yahoos site by coordinating restoration efforts. Escalate incidents to the appropriate technical and management personal. Provide application support and other valuable services for production applications. Responsible for the resolution of services impacting events on Yahoo!s network. Resolve alerts that are generated from system failures.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related field and one year of experience installing, configuring and monitoring network systems.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Requires education or experience in: 1. Linux OS internals including files systems, storage and process lifecycle; 2. LAMP architecture and services; 3. TCP/IP network environment; 4. HTTP, DNS, NFS, RAID and DHCP; 5. Linux/Unix and Python scripting to detect network infections; and 6. Switches, routers, firewalls and VPNs protocols

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
